Job Summary
Temporary Food Service Worker at Alvarado Parkway Institute in La Mesa, CA, responsible for delivering healthy, cost-effective dietary services to patients, staff, and guests. Duties include serving meals in the cafeteria, cleaning work areas, reconciling deliveries, assisting the cook and dietary supervisor with food preparation, and adhering to hygiene and confidentiality standards in a behavioral-health hospital setting. Must be able to work flexible hours, maintain composure in challenging interactions, and operate kitchen equipment safely. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and completion of required health and background screenings.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to concentrate amidst distractions and meet deadlines
- Ability to use kitchen equipment (knives, slicers, mixers, dishwashers)
- Ability to work independently in a restricted environment
- Ability to perform several tasks concurrently
- Must maintain confidentiality of information
- Background/Reference Checks and licensure/certification as required by API policies
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption with weekly tests if exempt
- Annual flu vaccination required or exemption with masking during flu season
- Pass drug and alcohol test; TB test or chest X-ray; physical examination
