Job Summary
Food Service Technician needed for a part-time role in Canton Middle School Food & Nutrition Services. Responsibilities include receiving, storage and preparation of meals and snacks, adherence to School Breakfast/Lunch/Supper program guidelines, sanitation checks, portioning to district specifications, cash register operation, and delivering timely meals with customer service. Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent and obtain the Certified Professional Food Manager Certification by the start of the second term; Illinois Food Handler card required (or ability to obtain within 30 days). Bilingual Spanish/English preferred. 9:15am-2:15pm schedule (5 hours/day), 190 days/year; starting hourly rate $16.49; pension eligible.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Professional Food Manager Certification
- State of Illinois Food Handler card (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Minimum of one year experience in cashiering, customer service, cafeteria line server or related field (preferred)
- Bilingual-Spanish/English preferred
