Job Summary

Greet customers, answer questions, and process transactions while promoting specials and driving sales. Prepare, cook, and assemble food items according to recipes, maintaining high standards for presentation and portion control. Safely operate kitchen equipment like fryers and grills, verify orders, and deliver food to customers promptly. Ensure all food handling, preparation, and storage meet safety standards and local health codes by monitoring temperatures and tracking expiration dates. Keep the food service area, kitchen, and dining room clean and organized, managing food waste and inventory rotation. Operate the POS system to handle cash and card payments, assist with shift closing duties, and report sales and inventory usage. Maintain overall store cleanliness and security, monitor for suspicious activity, and follow emergency procedures. Communicate shift information to the morning team and collaborate effectively with other associates.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Be able to stand extended periods (up to 8 hours) during shifts
  • Capable of lifting boxes and products, maximum 50 lbs., frequently 10-25 lbs., and carrying items across the store
  • Ability to bend, squat, and reach for products on shelves, both high and low
  • Ability to climb a ladder as needed
  • Ability to walk throughout the store and between departments regularly
  • Ability to handle cash, operate registers, and bag items efficiently
  • Must be comfortable with repetitive tasks such as scanning items, restocking, and organizing products
  • Able to work in cold environments, including freezers and refrigerators, when restocking products
  • The role requires mental focus and stamina to perform physical tasks consistently and efficiently throughout the shift
  • Exposure to varying kitchen temperatures (hot cooking surfaces and cold storage areas)
  • Seasonal snow removal, as needed
  • Ability to handle emergency situations
  • Ability to work alone

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service or retail, especially in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic food preparation experience and familiarity with kitchen equipment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and provide excellent service
  • Ability to maintain high standards for food quality, cleanliness, and safety while managing multiple tasks during a busy shift
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, such as preparing food, handling customer transactions, and maintaining store cleanliness
  • Ability to handle customer complaints and resolve food service issues in a calm and professional manner
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other associates to ensure smooth store operations, even during overnight hours
  • Basic knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory software, and scheduling tools
  • Familiarity with basic office software (e.g., Word, Excel)
  • Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain certification during training
  • ServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety certification
