Food Service Supervisor

Job Summary
Lead catering operations during events, including hands-on food preparation, cooking, setup, service, and cleanup. Supervise and coordinate catering staff to ensure high-quality service and consistency while actively cooking menu items alongside the team. Assist in menu/recipe creation, standardization, and presentation, and ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and venue standards. Track inventory levels, communicate ordering needs, and maintain documentation for recipes and staff training. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for consistent service and collaborate with the Revenue team to evaluate menu pricing. Support overall event execution and fill operational gaps in Quick Service as needed. Requires 2+ years of catering experience, ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and physical capability to lift 40-50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in catering, banquet, event food service, or hospitality supervision
- Experience leading or supporting events in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and team leadership skills
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple events or priorities
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on events
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40-50 lbs
- Frequent bending, reaching, and setup/teardown work
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced event environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working weddings or large-scale events
- Familiarity with BEOs or event schedules
- ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in high-volume food service and preparation or hospitality environments
