Job Summary
Supervise inmate labor and team members during food preparation and service shifts at the Harnett County Detention Center. Prepare, instruct, and serve a variety of food items according to assigned menus, recipes, and work instructions while ensuring proper storage and sanitation. Utilize kitchen equipment to cook and serve menued portions that meet nutritional needs. Maintain a clean work environment by sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, and managing garbage collection. Train other food service workers and follow all food safety regulations. This part-time role includes mornings Monday through Friday from 5:30am to 9:30am, with some weekends, and requires standing for extended periods.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to lift, bend, push, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time
- Must be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift
- Must be available for weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience
