Job Summary
Lead and supervise the Room Service Team to ensure patient trays are delivered within target times (no longer than 45 minutes, with collection no later than 1 hour after delivery) and that patient dietary needs are accurately followed. Oversee Guest Service Attendants, Dish Room Attendants, Call Center Operators and Cooks; ensure 100% accuracy of patient trays to printed kitchen tickets; use Computrition system; monitor inventory and sanitation per HAACP standards; manage scheduling and staff development; enforce cash handling policies and maintain confidentiality; train and coach staff including dietetic interns; collaborate to maintain high-quality service and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school education and 1-2 years of work experience, preferably in food service or customer service
- Knowledge of therapeutic diet orders
- Knowledge of the food and restaurant regulations set by US Public Health, Massachusetts and Boston City Health Codes and Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Hospitals
- Must have computer skills and basic mathematics knowledge, including ability to work with money
- Ability to read, write and speak English
