Job Summary
Supervise and manage all kitchen and food service staff, including Job Corps and Work-Based Learning students, while overseeing daily food preparation activities and the dining room. Plan menus, coordinate food purchases, manage the department budget, and ensure compliance with USDOL, Job Corps, OSHA, and health department guidelines. Conduct student surveys, operate the evening snack program, and provide required training for new and current employees. Interview, evaluate, and discipline direct reports to maintain performance standards and fill vacancies. Ensure sanitation compliance, enforce rest and meal break requirements, and mentor staff to meet Career Success Standards. Transport students to and from the Center as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to obtain ServSafe credentials
- Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching
- Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance
Desired Qualifications
- Degree or certification from an accredited or relevant certified training program or school
- Three or more years in institutional food preparation and technical training
- Three or more years food service supervisory experience
