Job Summary
Monitors and guides inmates in food service; prepares foods, salads, and desserts; cooks or bakes a variety of items; ensures adherence to diet orders and master menus; operates and cleans kitchen equipment; maintains sanitation and inventory; loads and delivers food carts or trays; may direct the work of food service personnel and supervise inmates as assigned; responsibilities scale with Level I–IV from basic food preparation and sanitation to administration and staff supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in commercial or institutional food service
- Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to supervise food service personnel (Level II–IV)
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing (Level III–IV)
