Job Summary
Food Service professional responsible for preparing meals to order, catering and batch cooking for patients, visitors, and staff; maintains clean work areas and follows safety/sanitation guidelines; handles cash transactions and supports retail operations; delivers and assembles patient trays with attention to doctor’s orders and portion controls; participates in menu adaptations and food sanitation practices across Day/Evening/Overnight/Weekend shifts; roles include patient meal service, tray delivery, and support for department needs; opportunities for advancement through certification programs and scholarship opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Food Service Managers Certification (SJMH only)
- Food Service Handlers Certification (MHC, HH, HMC, Cancer Institute)
- Food Allergens Certification
- 6 months, preferred
