Job Summary
Line Cook in S&C Electric Company’s Food Service department (self-operated cafeterias). Part-time shifts include Mondays and Wednesdays 2:00pm–6:00pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:00pm–10:30pm. Responsibilities include delivering food and supplies to the Building 6 Cafeteria and meeting rooms, washing dishes (5–10 lb weight), stocking deliveries in Building 3 Cafeteria storage and cooler areas, mopping and cleaning freezers, learning inventory records, providing support services, and performing duties such as operating the cash register or food preparation. Must obtain a food safety certification within 60 days and have 1–2 years of cooking experience. Requires high school diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 40 lbs, and ability to become a certified driver for cafeteria vehicles. Equal opportunity employer. Location: Chicago, IL.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to become a certified driver for cafeteria vehicles (on premises)
- Ability to meet daily deadlines while maintaining teamwork
- Ability to follow specific verbal instructions and procedures
- Ability to read and understand job related materials such as packing lists, menus, and notes
- Obtaining your food safety certification within the first 60 days, if you do not already have the certification
- 1-2 years of cooking experience in the kitchen
