Job Summary
Plan, organize, and provide high-quality dietary services for residents while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and public health requirements. Select, supervise, and motivate dietary staff to maintain productivity and team cohesion. Manage the departmental budget, oversee product ordering, and maintain all records in accordance with policies and legislative mandates. Liaise with residents, families, government officials, and professionals to address care needs. Participate in the manager on-call rotation and maintain infection control and food safety standards across all operations. Requires current membership with the Canadian Society of Nutritional Management or the College of Dietitians of Ontario, minimum two years dietary management experience, and flexibility for unionized environment management.
Required Qualifications
- Current membership with the Canadian Society of Nutritional Management (C.S.N.M.) or the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Minimum 2 years dietary management experience in a long-term care setting
- Strong leadership skills to direct the work of employees
- Superb organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
- Experience managing employees within a unionized setting
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety practices, principles, and legislation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Customer-focused with a high emphasis on building and maintaining relationships with clients
- Flexibility to participate in the manager on-call rotation schedule
- A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of hire date
- Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months
