Job Summary
Oversee school cafeteria operations at Jesse Bobo Elementary, managing the school food service program in compliance with USDA/state guidelines. Lead and supervise food service staff, ensure accuracy and efficiency of food service processes, and manage food cost, labor cost, and inventory. Utilize Point of Sale systems and maintain necessary paperwork and certifications (Serv Safe/HACCP preferred). Coordinate with the Spartanburg School District Six to deliver safe, high-quality meals within an active 185-day contract, ensuring effective communication and organizational workflow in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year experience in a food service program preferably within a school district
- Knowledge of US Department of Agriculture and state guidelines for school food service programs and required paperwork
- Knowledge of food service management systems and Point of Sale systems
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Serv Safe or HACCP certification preferred
- Management experience in food service
- Knowledge of food cost, labor cost, and inventory systems
- Experience managing people in a fast paced environment
