Food Service Manager (Dietary Healthcare)

Develop and direct the overall operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards to assure quality nutritional services are provided daily. Coordinate dietary services with Nursing, Housekeeping, and Social Services, while assisting staff in developing departmental policies and procedures. Assist in developing preliminary and comprehensive assessments of resident dietary needs and create written dietary plans of care that identify specific problems and goals. Ensure all personnel are aware of care plans and that they are used in planning daily services, including providing substitute foods for residents who refuse meals. Conduct daily rounds to verify required duties are performed and appropriate procedures are rendered, while inspecting food storage rooms and utility closets for upkeep. Process diet changes from nursing services, review therapeutic and regular diet plans for physician compliance, and maintain adequate liaison with families and residents. Participate in facility surveys, attend mandatory meetings, and assist in planning discharge services and regular or special diet menus as prescribed.
