Job Summary
Food Service Manager responsible for timely preparation and serving of meals in accordance with Federal Nutrition Service Standards and Texas Administrative Code. Manages the Center Kitchen including inventory control, equipment maintenance, and safety/sanitation procedures; oversees day-to-day Center operations in the absence of the Center Director and handles data entry of meal services. Duties include preparing meals per regulations, ensuring proper portions and documenting results, monitoring temperatures, posting menus signed by a dietician, maintaining kitchen equipment and inventories, weekly grocery orders, delivery/handling/storage of products, waste control, delivering Home Delivered Meals as needed, assisting with Center cleaning, and coordinating center operations. Requires teamwork, effective communication, respect for diverse backgrounds, ability to learn computer software, valid Texas driver’s license, health card as required, and compliance with policies. Bilingual skills are encouraged.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Preferred: Experience in food handling and preparation and/or service delivery to the underprivileged or experience in HCCAA Programs
