Job Summary

Kitchen Manager leads school cafeteria operations, ensuring nutritious and well-presented meals are prepared and served efficiently. Responsibilities include managing production records in the POS system, inventory management, ordering and receiving, supervising and mentoring staff, enforcing food safety standards, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with the Director and Nutrition Coordinator. The role requires Servsafe and related certifications, knowledge of USDA nutrition programs, and ability to analyze sales reports and drive product mix, while upholding fiscal accountability and customer service. 35 hours per week in Hingham Public Schools, MA.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience working in a school cafeteria
  • Experience with a computerized point of sale system
  • Servsafe Certificate
  • Choke Safe Certification
  • Food Allergen Certificate
  • Knowledge of USDA Nutrition Program, food labels, ingredients and allergens
  • Proficiency with Food Service software systems, including Microsoft Office and Google
  • Operate all Food Service kitchen equipment
  • Ability to plan and monitor production records and inventory
  • Excellent communication with Director and Nutrition Coordinator
