Job Summary
Food Service Helper at The Caring Place Broward Outreach Centers in Miami, FL. Assists with organizing the food warehouse, supports Cooks in meal preparation, and drives an assigned vehicle to various locations for pickup of donations; participates in inventory control, rotation of food (FIFO), and maintains a clean and safe kitchen, dining room, and warehouse. Leads or participates in ministry activities and devotions; must agree with The Caring Place Statement of Faith. Requires minimum one year warehouse experience, possible Florida Food Handler’s Certificate and/or Certified Forklift Operator, knowledge of institutional food preparation/storage, OSHA and health department regulations, and a Florida driver’s license with a good driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and communicate effectively in English; this is a full-time role with duties across kitchen, warehouse, and donation pickup sites.
Required Qualifications
- minimum of one (1) year warehouse experience
- Florida Food Handler’s Certificate and/or a Certified Forklift Operator
- knowledge of institutional food preparation and storage
- OSHA and local health department regulations
- Valid State of Florida driver’s license (4 pt. max) with good driving record
- ability to communicate effectively in English
