Job Summary
Prepare and serve nutritionally adequate, reimbursable meals while adhering to food safety rules, HACCP standards, and approved meal patterns. Operate point-of-sale systems, food service equipment, and drive vans to satellite sites for delivery, gas, and cleaning. Perform kitchen duties including pre-preparation, production, backup, and clean-up, while maintaining inventory and following written recipes. Drive refrigerated/freezer trucks between sites and ensure a clean work environment by disposing of waste. Participate in state-approved training, review technical sources, and comply with federal, state laws, and School Board policies. Interact daily with students, parents, and staff to promote exceptional customer service.
Required Qualifications
- Prior food service or cashier work experience
- Ability to follow directions, read, and communicate in English
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, school administrators and other Food & Nutrition service-related personnel
- Computer skills as required for the position
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Bilingual skills
Desired Qualifications
- A standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program
