Job Summary
Plan, direct, and coordinate the single-site food service operation, overseeing kitchen staff and inmates through preparation, cooking, and serving. Supervise daily workflows, assign tasks, and enforce security guidelines while ensuring all team members are adequately trained. Manage inventory, approve bi-weekly payroll, and maintain accurate financial and production reports. Ensure food items are stored safely, comply with Health Department codes, and maintain sanitary environments. Coordinate special events and participate in contract negotiations. Work 7am to 5pm with weekend and holiday availability.
Required Qualifications
- Must be available to work some weekends and holidays
- High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Five years of management or supervisory experience in a food service environment
- ServSafe Certification
- Knowledge and experience managing and applying kitchen sanitation and safety standards and methods
- Knowledge of basic accounting and mathematical abilities to complete necessary reports
Desired Qualifications
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is preferred
