Job Summary
Prepare hot and cold meals and beverages according to menus, recipes, and dietary needs while reviewing tray cards for allergies, preferences, and special instructions. Assemble meal trays with correct dishware and adaptive equipment, then serve meals and assist with delivery to residents. Prepare and stock snack carts, clean dishes, utensils, and food prep areas after use, and maintain infection control and safety standards. Communicate respectfully with residents, staff, and visitors, and attend trainings and meetings to support additional assigned tasks. Work part-time hours from 3pm to 9pm in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation community serving long-term and short-term care residents.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, equivalent, or enrollment in current high school courses
- Experience working in the kitchen of institutions that provide meals to large groups on a daily basis
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility
- Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. unassisted
- Full range of body motion including handling and lifting objects
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases
Desired Qualifications
- Experience cooking in a Skilled Nursing Facility a plus
