Job Summary
Cooks and prepares lunch for Center cafeteria patrons; plans menus to ensure well-balanced meals; researches and adds new items to the menu rotation; supervises volunteers assisting in the cafeteria; cleans and maintains kitchen equipment; follows Health Department sanitary procedures; requires two years of related experience and ability to direct volunteers; operates commercial kitchen equipment including gas stove/ovens, convection ovens, meat slicer, dishwasher, mixer, warming cabinet, and steam table; evaluates purchases and orders supplies; maintains a professional demeanor and collaborates with center patrons and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Two years' experience in related field
- Experience operating commercial gas stove/oven, convection oven, meat slicer, commercial dishwasher, commercial mixer, warming cabinet, and steam table
- Knowledge of Health Department regulations and sanitary procedures
- Ability to direct the activities of cafeteria volunteer workers
