Job Summary
Operate the food service point of sale system to ensure students are properly charged and recognize USDA reimbursable meals. Assist in preparing, cooking, and serving the daily menu while maintaining daily cleaning of kitchen equipment, dishes, silverware, utensils, and serving areas. Perform any assigned food service duties as directed by the Director or Kitchen Manager, including substituting at other buildings within the district when short-staffed. Maintain confidentiality within the food service program and demonstrate organization and professionalism while interacting with staff, students, parents, and the community. Possess strong basic math skills and attend required professional development hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Background Check
- Must maintain confidentiality within the food service program
- Must possess strong basic math skills
- Must be able to dress in appropriate attire as required by the Director
- Must demonstrate organization and professionalism in responsibilities
- Must be flexible and willing to perform any and all Food Service duties as assigned
- Must be willing to substitute at any buildings within the district as needed when short staffed
- Must attend the required number of hours each year of professional development set by the state
- Must be able to frequently stand
- Must be able to frequently walk
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel objects, tools or controls
- Must be able to talk and hear
- Must be able to frequently squat, stoop or kneel
- Must be able to reach above the head and forward
- Must be able to continuously use hand strength to grasp items
- Must be able to frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to sometimes push/pull items such as tables and carts
- Must have close vision
- Must have color vision
- Must have the ability to adjust focus
