Job Summary
Collect payment and enter student and staff data into computer systems while operating the Point-of-Sale system to close each production day. Assist with daily kitchen production tasks, including cooking breakfast and other food items, and provide backup support to the head cook. Complete daily production records accurately, count money for bank deposits, and maintain all food safety and sanitation standards. Check patrons at serving lines for reimbursable meals and charging accounts, refill and clean fruit and vegetable bars, and carry out end-of-day cleaning in accordance with district guidelines. Maintain annual U.S.D.A professional standards and read communications from district stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- A valid driver's license or the ability to travel within the district as requested
- Computational skills in money handling and completing reports
- Ability to cope with time pressure
- Ability to organize own time and tasks
- Ability to effectively use computer-based systems
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs
- Must be able to carry 20 feet
- Must have manual dexterity skills (telephone, computer, other)

- Must be in an active paid status at the beginning of the posting
- Must have one evaluation on file
- Must have no formal discipline during the 12 previous months of actual workdays from the posting date
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check
- Must successfully pass a child and adult abuse registry check
- Must be willing to undergo fingerprinting, a drug and alcohol test, a physical capacity test and/or a motor vehicle record check if required for certain positions
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma, HiSET or GED
- School Nutrition Association Membership and Certification
- Previous cashiering experience in school food service or other food production facility
- Equivalent work experience in cashiering, accounting, and/or record keeping
