Job Summary
Food Service Associate assists with patient meal service and cafeteria operations under supervision. Responsibilities include setting up stations, retrieving and delivering patient meal trays, maintaining stock, handling and portioning food per recipes, ensuring sanitary handling and safety, preparing beverages, labeling/ dating items, cross-training across various areas (tray line, storeroom, dish/ pot areas), and performing daily cleaning tasks. Emphasizes adhering to CDC hand hygiene guidelines, following approved recipes to deliver safe, nutritious, cost-conscious meals, and providing courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred
- Experience: 6+ months’ previous experience in food service preferred but not required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
