Job Summary

Prepare and serve food items to students and staff by cooking, baking, and handling produce while adhering to strict food safety protocols. Assist with deliveries, rotate stock, and manage inventory across storage areas to maintain freshness and adequate supply levels. Clean utensils, equipment, and all food preparation and serving surfaces to ensure sanitary conditions and compliance with health codes. Process customer transactions accurately, address allergy concerns, and manage cash handling procedures. Perform end-of-day cleaning, weigh leftovers, and complete production records. Report equipment malfunctions and serve as a substitute at various sites as needed. Maintain a Food Handler's Card and complete ongoing USDA training.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Food Handler's Card
  • Ongoing USDA Training
  • Criminal Background Clearance
  • Non Exempt FLSA Status
  • Knowledge of basic math including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios
  • Understanding of written procedures
  • Ability to write routine documents
  • Ability to speak clearly
  • Ability to understand multi-step written and oral instructions
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of quantifying food preparation and handling
  • Knowledge of sanitation practices
  • Knowledge of codes/laws/rules/regulations/policies
  • Knowledge of school safety and security practices
  • Skill to adhere to safety practices
  • Skill to operate equipment found in a commercial kitchen
  • Skill to perform various food preparation and serving processes
  • Skill to use pertinent software applications
