Job Summary
Food Service Assistant in Long Term Care is responsible for monitoring and recording proper food temperatures per HACCP, setting up and maintaining a clean, sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and handling payments using a computerized register. Duties also include providing outstanding customer service, communicating effectively with patrons and co-workers, maintaining quality control, operating equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, refrigerators, and freezers. Prior experience in food service is preferred; ability to stand for extended periods and walk long distances is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions
- Ability to perform basic math
- On-the-job training will be provided
- Serv Safe may be required within designated time frame
