Job Summary
Interact with staff, students, faculty, and visitors while portioning foods, using techniques like chopping and dicing to assist with food preparation. Wash pots and pans, place menu and a la carte items on the serving line, and assemble serving utensils. Monitor food and beverage temperatures, report unsafe conditions, and serve food according to recipe portions. Disassemble the serving line, clean areas, discard leftovers, and remove garbage. Perform inventory management duties, unpack boxes, stock coolers, and complete assigned cleaning tasks. Adhere to HACCP guidelines, proper hand washing techniques, and school district rules. Report to work with proper uniform and grooming.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and communicate in English
- Accurately count, weigh, and measure
- Physical ability to walk, stoop, stand, twist, and squat on a constant basis
- Lift a minimum of 51 pounds to 33 inches occasionally
- Must work in a hot, humid environment
- Must work in a cold, or below zero environment for short period
- Report to work at scheduled time with proper uniform and appropriately groomed
- Adhere to all school district and building rules and regulations
- Utilize proper hand washing techniques
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and seminars as scheduled
