Food Service Assistant - Inventory & Operations Support

Job Summary
Receive, organize, rotate, and store food and supply deliveries using FIFO practices. Pull inventory, perform monthly physical counts, and distribute supplies to kitchen staff. Transport food, equipment, and materials safely between district locations. Operate the cashier/POS system during daily meal service and assist with food preparation, dishwashing, and sanitizing kitchen equipment. Serve students efficiently while maintaining a clean, organized environment that adheres to USDA, HACCP, and district food safety standards. Work 4.5 hours daily (8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) Monday through Friday, with no evenings, weekends, or holidays. Summers off.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of production kitchen operations and food safety practices
- Understanding of proper sanitation procedures and HACCP guidelines
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to follow directions, prioritize tasks, and complete work on time
- Positive attitude with excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with inventory management and stock rotation
- Ability to operate a Point-of-Sale (POS) system
