Job Summary
Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes, set up serving lines, and serve meals to students and staff while adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Operate cash registers to process transactions, reconcile drawers, and maintain accurate records of meal counts and sales data. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and dining areas before, during, and after service, and assist in receiving, stocking, and rotating food supplies. Provide courteous service to students, staff, and visitors, resolve dining concerns, and collaborate with supervisors to ensure efficient cafeteria operations. Follow emergency evacuation plans and safety protocols to maintain a secure environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment and cash registers
- Valid Ohio Driver's License
- Must pass criminal background check
- Willingness to adhere to school policies and procedures, including dress code and behavior standards
- Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and occasional evenings for special events or meetings
- Ability to follow directions, maintain confidentiality, and uphold professional standards
- Ability to lift a moderate amount of weight
- Ability to lift (10-20 pounds) of supplies and materials
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or customer service preferred
