Job Summary
Prepare and finish food produced by the daytime kitchen team, serving customers and maintaining high food safety standards. Ensure all hot food is held at correct temperatures while completing cleaning duties and monitoring stock levels. Open and close the service area independently, managing your own workload in a lone-working role. Work 20 hours per week across four night shifts (11pm to 4am) on a 4-over-7 rotation. This role supports BaxterStorey's mission to create beautiful spaces and exciting menus for clients in offices, stadiums, and universities, offering bespoke training and development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Previous catering, kitchen, or food service experience
- Comfortable working independently and managing lone shifts
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Basic food hygiene knowledge
- Reliable, organised, and able to work under pressure
- Proven experience working as a Commis Chef
- Knowledge of some cooking techniques and cuisines
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
