Job Summary
Food Service Assistant #2 provides support in the student nutrition program by assisting the Kitchen Manager and Food Service Supervisor in food preparation and sanitation, following standard recipes and safety protocols, and helping with daily Food Production Records. The role requires flexibility to work at other schools as needed, lifting up to 35 pounds, and regular in-person attendance. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing workspaces, assisting with stock and equipment, and performing other duties assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Food Service Supervisor. The position is part-time (3 hours/day, 15 hours/week) during the school year at Howell Public Schools, Howell, Michigan. Must maintain professionalism, interact with staff and students, and operate with district policies and guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent); and must pass a basic math skills test.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written).
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
- Ability to work with the general public and students.
