Job Summary
Assist the cook in preparing meals according to standardized recipes, plating patient trays accurately, and delivering food to patients while addressing their dietary needs and preferences. Serve food to staff and visitors in the cafeteria, wash dishes and kitchen equipment, and maintain a clean, sanitary work area. Communicate with patients regarding meal questions, adhere to HIPAA regulations, and stock supplies as assigned by the Food Service Manager. This role requires a current Food Handler's Certification and physical stamina for standing and lifting.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a current Food Handler's Certification recognized in Texas, Arizona, or Florida
- Speaks and communicates English effectively in verbal and written format; writes legibly
- Reading and comprehension at the level necessary to perform job duties appropriately
- Physical stamina for tasks that involve standing, bending, and lifting
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service, preferably in a healthcare setting
