Job Summary
Food Service Aide provides essential support to kitchen operations by cleaning, sanitizing, organizing dishes and cookware, and assisting with basic food preparation and trash removal. Responsibilities include delivering breakfast and lunch carts to classrooms, washing and sanitizing dishware, stocking supplies, reporting issues with equipment, and maintaining sanitation standards to comply with Department of Public Health regulations. Requires ability to read and follow instructions, operate commercial dish machines, lift up to 25 lbs, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and a current Food Handler Certification, with at least one year of food service experience, preferably in an institutional or early learning setting. The role is full-time, scheduled according to program needs, with potential hours exceeding 40 per week to meet operational requirements. English proficiency and physical stamina are essential.
