Job Summary
Food Server for Independent Living (3:30pm–7:30pm), part-time (approximately 25–30 hours/week) at Friendship Village in St. Louis, MO. Responsibilities include setting tables, taking orders, serving and assisting with dishwashing, transporting items, maintaining sanitation and hygiene, answering questions about menu items, and supporting residents and guests. Requires English literacy, good customer service, ability to read and follow instructions, and interpersonal skills to work with residents, families, and staff. Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Perform simple arithmetic
- Follow written and oral instructions in English
- Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred, but not required (will train on-the-job)
- Ability to interpret and explain the menu, coordinate the meal service process and respond to requests
- Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, families, supervisor and peers
- Fundamental understanding of hospitality, customer service, table service techniques, personal hygiene and appearance
- Weekend and Holidays are mandatory
