Job Summary
Serve food and beverage items per guest requests, ensure tables are clean and properly set, and set up serving stations according to checklist. Answer questions regarding food preparation, make menu suggestions, and observe diners to respond to additional requests. Use P.O.S. System, handle service trays, glass racks, and china trolleys, and maintain soda/liquid beverage dispensers while adhering to department policies and ServSafe cleanliness standards. Initiate a positive guest experience by providing a welcome, making eye contact, describing offerings, and bidding farewell. Requires ability to read limited words, perform basic math with money and measurements, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Starting pay is $4.25 an hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability, when necessary, to use P.O.S. System
- Ability to handle service trays, glass racks, and china trolleys as needed
- Ability to handle and maintain soda/liquid beverage dispensers
- Adherence to proper cleanliness and sanitation standards as set forth by ServSafe
- Ability to stand regularly
- Ability to walk and reach with hands and arms frequently
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
