Job Summary
Conduct physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems, documenting and calculating results accurately. Implement corrective actions by alerting personnel to adjust processes, isolating non-conforming products, and reporting findings to management. Perform additional assignments as requested while maintaining strict adherence to Tyson paperwork standards. This role requires lifting up to 75 pounds, standing for 12 hours, and working in varying temperatures and wet environments. Candidates must possess Lock Out Tag Out certification, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and motivate the hourly workforce. The position is open to the 2nd shift with flexibility for overtime and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork
- Ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce
- Good problem identification and problem-solving skills
- Math and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret product specifications
- Must function well under stress
- Must have flexibility to work where and when needed
- Must be willing and able to lift up to 75 lbs
- Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
- Must work in cold/hot temperatures typically ranging from 30-90 degrees Fahrenheit
- Must be able to work in wet environment
- Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling
- Must be able to reach high and low levels frequently
- Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Lock Out Tag Out certification
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to work in a food manufacturing setting
- Must be able to perform physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems
- Must be able to document and calculate results accurately
- Must be able to take corrective action when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management
- Must be able to use steel-toed work boots, hardhats, safety glasses (where required), hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and smocks
- Must not have cell phones or jewelry on the factory floor
