Job Summary
Food Safety Manager in ready-to-eat meal production responsible for regulatory inspection readiness, monitoring critical limits (refrigeration, sanitation chemicals, dish machine operation), reviewing cook-chill process records, developing and implementing food safety programs (Chef audits, internal assessments, training materials), training GMPs and employees in safe handling, promoting a food safety culture, identifying and assessing potential food safety risks in production, monitoring compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations across production, handling, and storage areas, and assisting with environmental monitoring and shelf life testing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, or equivalent experience in a high compliance environment
- Certified Food Safety Manager (e.g., ServSafe) or equivalent certification
- Proven experience in food safety, quality control, or a related role
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards
- Excellent communication and training skills
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety
