Job Summary
Food Safety and Quality Supervisor accountable for leading QA/QC programs, developing and executing FSMA/SQF-compliant quality and food safety policies, and guiding the Preparation Team across packing facilities. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining Food Safety Plans, conducting internal audits, managing document control (SSOPs/SOPs), tracking and presenting food safety KPIs, leading recall-preparedness, training and coaching staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance (GFSI, FSMA, GMP, HACCP, FDA/USDA/RSP). The role requires building a culture of quality, partnering with Operations and Merch to drive continuous improvement, and serving as a subject-matter expert on food safety standards (SQF, HACCP, GMP, FSQ, PACA, and related regulatory frameworks). Strong emphasis on leadership, corrective actions, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration; BS degree and 5+ years in food safety are required. Salary range $70,000-$80,000 per year plus comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Microbiology / Food Science / Chemistry or related area
- Minimum 5 years industry food safety experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment including HACCP team experience
- HACCP Certification; SQF Practitioner/BRC/FSSC experience, and certified as Preventive Controls Qualified Individual
- USDA, NOP, and FDA Regulatory experience
- USDA FSIS Meats, USDA Produce/AMS and CPG experience
- Minimum 5 years of people management experience
- Knowledge of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)
