Job Summary
The Food Safety and QA Manager is responsible for evaluating, maintaining, and continuously improving the company's Quality System, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards including BRC, FDA, FSMA, OSHA, and EPA. Key responsibilities include managing HACCP and HARPC compliance, performing pre-operational inspections, overseeing the consumer complaint program, and coaching staff in quality assurance practices. Required qualifications include a college degree, extensive food processing experience, and expertise in facilitating training events related to food safety. The role demands strong analytical skills and the ability to perform technical research relevant to food safety.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of food processing experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment under USDA and/or FDA and HACCP.
- 5+ years facilitating food safety/quality related training events is required
- Good Computer Skills (MS. Office Suite) and Aptitudes
- Good Supervisory Skills.
- Good Math Skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Good understanding of functional ingredients used in bread, cookies, pastry, and other baked goods.
- Knowledge and Experience with third party Audits under GFSI.
- Experience and knowledge working with MRP Software
- Experience and knowledge managing cross functional auditing teams for quality and food safety.
- Technical experience in a manufacturing plant, processing, or packaging of products.
