Job Summary
Deliver food and beverage items to guest tables, ensuring proper placement and providing brief item explanations. Clear plates, glassware, and silverware throughout service, refill water glasses, and replace silverware as needed. Restock the runner station according to checklists, maintain cleanliness, and assist kitchen staff in plating dishes accurately. Check surrounding areas for items requiring clearing and answer guest questions about menu items. Adhere to food safety, cleanliness, and security standards while attending all briefings and trainings. Requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with long hours and physical demands including lifting over 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least three (3) months of experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club
- Knowledge of HACCP & local food safety standards
- Possesses or can obtain State Food Safety Certificate
- Knowledgeable of food and beverage operations
- Extraordinary attention to detail, quality and service
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Long hours may be required due to business demands
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds
