Job Summary
Deliver food and beverage items to guest tables, ensuring accurate placement and providing brief item explanations. Clear plates, glassware, and silverware throughout service, refill water glasses, and restock the runner station per checklist. Assist kitchen staff in plating dishes and matching descriptions to tickets, while replacing silverware as needed. Monitor surrounding areas for items requiring clearing and answer guest questions regarding menu items. Prepare the runner station for each meal period, maintaining cleanliness and organization. Adhere to food safety, cleanliness, and security standards, and attend all briefings and trainings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least three (3) months of experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club
- Knowledge of HACCP & local food safety standards
- Possesses or can obtain State Food Safety Certificate
- Knowledgeable of food and beverage operations
- Extraordinary attention to detail, quality and service
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Long hours may be required due to business demands
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds
