Job Summary
Food Resource Associate supports the Food Pantry Network and Community Health & Wellness events by helping with pantry deliveries, checking invoices, stocking and organizing supplies, keeping pantries clean, breaking down boxes, and disposing of cardboard according to sanitation regulations. Assists with setup and breakdown of chairs and tables for events, and helps collect donations and Toy Drive contributions. Follows funding-source standards, HIPAA and confidentiality rules, and agency policies. Requires physical mobility to walk, stand, and sit for long periods, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to travel across the five boroughs and work flexible evenings/weekends. Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; valid driver’s license and driving history required; Food Safety Certificate preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; may be waived for 2 years relevant experience
- Valid driver's license
- proof of DMV driving history
- 3 years of current driving experience with no more than one moving violation in the previous 24 months (2 years)
- no driving while intoxicated convictions
- Valid Food Safety Certificate preferred
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight 50 pounds including occasional moving of furniture
- Able to travel throughout the five boroughs as needed
- Ability to work flexible hours (evenings/weekends) as assigned
