Job Summary
Inspect produce for bruising, mold, or damage and sort edible versus non-edible items. Set up and maintain the sorting area, weigh donations with a pallet scale, and pack produce into boxes for distribution. Move pallets using an electrical power jack and coordinate food transfer to the loading dock or external vehicles. Build mixed pallets for partner pickups and maintain accurate records of donations and distributions. Supervise and train on-site volunteer produce sorters when applicable. Maintain a safe, clean warehouse environment while working extended standing periods in a temperature-controlled setting.
Required Qualifications
- Available 7 am - 3 pm M-F (Varies by market,)
- Must have a personal vehicle or reliable transportation (Our warehouse is in an industrial area & may not easily be accessible via public transportation)
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 7 hours)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at one time
- Capability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions
- Comfortable working in a temperature-controlled environment (cooler temperatures)
- Ability to maneuver through a busy warehouse and handle food safely
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift certification preferred
