Job Summary
Food Production Worker at MercyOne Clinton will prepare and serve patient meals according to prescribed diets, adhering to state and federal regulations. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care through preparing entrees, starches, bakery items, soups, salads, and texture-modified foods per menus and projected needs; using standardized recipes; operating and maintaining kitchen equipment; minimizing waste; maintaining a clean, compliant work environment; following infection control practices; and representing the organization professionally in the cafeteria. The role requires following schedules (vaired shifts, every other weekend, holiday rotation) and collaborating with staff to support compassionate, patient-centered care. Education is preferred at the high school level, and practical healthcare experience is valued.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent preferred
- One-year of healthcare-related experience preferred
- Practical experience in healthcare setting is desired
- Ability to calculate and prepare diets from standardized recipes
- Comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment
