Job Summary
Oversee daily food production department activities, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with HACCP, FDA regulations, and PPE protocols. Lead and manage helpers, junior supervisors, and supervisors while fostering a cohesive work environment. Coordinate receipt, storage, and organization of supplies, monitor inventory levels, and partner with the Food Production Manager to plan training and staffing needs. Facilitate new team member training, monitor performance, and address problematic areas to enhance productivity. Ensure meals are prepared and packed according to stringent deadlines and quality assurance standards, including attending food tasting sessions. Promptly report departmental issues, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate effectively with management and other departments. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 year of supervisory experience in a high-volume food service or food manufacturing production
- Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and general food safety standards knowledge
- Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures
- Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs
Desired Qualifications
- Possesses at least a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification, a Bachelor's degree is preferred
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Proficient culinary knowledge of terms, procedures, and practices
- Demonstrates outstanding organizational skills and a knack for prioritizing tasks effectively
- Capable of seamlessly managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, dealing with a substantial workload, and sustaining periods of extended standing as required
- Adopts a hands-on approach and exhibits the ability to respond promptly with a sense of urgency
- Excellent in computer operations, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other relevant applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to interact and work well within a diverse group with experience/exposure to leadership roles
