Job Summary
Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment in a food processing plant. Maintains conveyors, pumps, mixers, and automated systems; performs preventive maintenance; diagnoses issues to minimize downtime; collaborates with production and sanitation to meet operational and hygiene standards; documents maintenance activities using CMMS/logs; participates in upgrades and special projects; adheres to GMP and food safety regulations; shift typically 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with six-day weeks during peak production; requires ability to work in hot/cold/wet/noisy environments and lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- technical school or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
- Basic knowledge of mechanics
- proper use of power and hand tools
- Familiarity with welding, machining, and fabrication is a plus
- Understanding of food safety practices, HACCP, and sanitary design principles preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
