Job Summary
Cook and Meal Preparation Specialist responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals for residents in a large residential program, following planned menus, dietary guidelines, and safety standards. Duties include chopping, portioning, storing ingredients, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and sanitation, monitoring inventory, and ensuring meals meet nutritional requirements while coordinating with staff to meet meal schedules. Requires experience in high-volume kitchens, knowledge of food safety and handling procedures, ability to follow recipes and dietary restrictions, and capability to work both independently and as part of a team; preferred ServSafe certification and high school diploma or equivalent.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety certification
- Experience in high-volume cooking/food preparation
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Ability to follow menus and dietary guidelines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
