Job Summary
Food Pantry Clerk to assist in administrative and daily operation of Wesley Health Centers' food service programs. Responsibilities include greeting patrons, answering inquiries about Public Benefits and Work Services, guiding volunteers with grocery preparation and distribution, preparing distribution areas, unloading groceries, maintaining sanitary pantry storage, recording fridge/freezer temperatures, maintaining inventory and documentation, and general pantry upkeep. Requires experience in food service, knowledge of food storage and menu planning, and a California driver’s license with access to a registered vehicle. Working conditions include an office role with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; part-time schedule with mandatory holiday coverage. Preferred: high school diploma or GED, nonprofit experience, and California Department of Health Food Safety Card.
Required Qualifications
- One year of experience in food service or meal preparation in residential facility, cafeteria, or commercial food establishment
- Knowledge of food storage, preparation, and menu planning
- California Driver's license and access to a properly registered vehicle
- High School diploma or GED (preferred)
- California Department of Health Food Safety Card (preferred)
