Job Summary
Create a fun, nurturing, and educational environment through hands-on learning opportunities by modeling Agency policies and submitting timely lesson plans. Facilitate engaging, age-appropriate activities that maintain an organized classroom space while quickly resolving conflicts with the Director. Plan, organize, and oversee varied programs with youth workers and volunteers, making periodic reports on youth participation and development. This role supports positive youth development in elementary and middle school settings within a non-profit community center serving over 10,000 diverse families in Queens and the Bronx.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of academic preparation in your discipline, or other equivalent training
- Good communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to speak professionally to staff, students, and school staff
- Demonstrated skills and competency as an instructor
- Positive classroom management skills
- Experience creating and facilitating relevant curriculum
- Effective organizational, stress and time management skills
