Job Summary
Food Expeditor coordinates the flow of food from the kitchen to the dining room, acting as the communication hub between culinary and front-of-house teams to ensure proper pacing, accuracy, presentation, and timely service. Responsibilities include organizing and prioritizing tickets, coordinating kitchen-to-server communication, verifying dish accuracy and allergen handling, monitoring ticket times, maintaining knowledge of menu items, assisting with final plate presentation, and supporting opening/closing duties while upholding food safety standards and team collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Previous expo, line cook, food runner, or kitchen experience in a high-volume restaurant required
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, ticket management, and service flow
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, allergens, and food handling procedures
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands
