Job Summary
Food Expeditor coordinates between kitchen and dining room to ensure timely, accurate, and presentable dishes. Responsible for reviewing orders, inspecting presentation, temperature, and portion size, relaying modifications to chefs and servers, monitoring kitchen pace, organizing course delivery, preventing errors, maintaining inventory of prepared ingredients, and keeping an orderly expeditor station. Requires ability to work across all kitchen stations, clear English communication, a 10-hour shift multiple days per week in a fast-paced environment, basic math, knowledge of food cost controls, and proficiency with a property management system. Emphasizes luxury/quality dining experience and collaboration with management, culinary staff, and guests.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a culinary leadership position in a high-volume restaurant/hotel/conference center/resort
- Experience in luxury and quality environment
- Ability to communicate in English with guests, management and staff
- Ability to work a 10-hour shift, 5-6 days per week
- Knowledge of food cost controls
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to work under pressure and resolve problems
- Ability to input and access information into property management system
- Ability to work with senior management and team
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization
